SCI GROUP AND LEVANTA RENEWABLES APPROVED FOR INVESTMENT POLICY OF IA DRENG 1 WIND POWER PLANT PROJECT IN GIA LAI PROVIN

May 29, 2026 — SCI Group, a Vietnamese enterprise with extensive experience in renewable energy development and investment, together with its partner Levanta Renewables — a Southeast Asia renewable energy platform backed by Actis — has received official approval from the People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province for both the investment policy and investor status of the Ia Dreng 1 Wind Power Plant Project, with a planned capacity of 40 MW.

This marks a significant legal milestone, formally launching Ia Dreng 1 into its investment implementation phase. It also highlights the effectiveness of the cooperation model between SCI Group and Levanta Renewables: combining SCI’s project development expertise and deep understanding of the Vietnamese market with Levanta’s international investment, management, and renewable energy development capabilities.

Located in Gia Lai Province, one of the most promising wind resource areas in the Central Highlands, the Ia Dreng 1 Project is expected to generate 120 GWh of clean electricity annually — equivalent to the consumption needs of around 60,000 households — while reducing carbon emissions by about 80,000 tons of CO₂ anually.

According to the project schedule, construction is set to commence in the first quarter of 2027, with commercial operation targeted for the first quarter of 2028. The project will The project will contribute clean energy to the national grid, create local employment opportunities, and generate revenue for the provincial budget.
